Viking Chemicals is an independent company, founded in 1973, manufacturing zirconia products of outstanding quality. Today, Viking has an integrated production of oxygen sensors, from raw materials all the way to finished sensors.

Based on a number of proprietary processes, Viking's production line covers: chemical separation of zirconia, stabilizing with yttria, high purity zirconia powder, ceramic fabrication, special platinizing techniques, mounting with gas tight seals into steel fittings etc. Consequently, Viking is the only company in the world that covers all manufacturing steps, which enable us to carefully control all aspects important to the end-user of oxygen sensors.

 
Viking Chemicals is the only supplier in the world, offering such a high performance product based on outstanding zirconia ceramics. This is due to the absence of any impurities in the grain boundaries of the individual small grains in the ceramic material whereby the oxygen ion conductance is facilitated - in other words, an extremely fast response and accurate reading is presented. Further, due to the lack of impurity migrations no ageing processes occur in the ceramic. Moreover Viking zirconia materials are impervious. The high density and extremely fine grained material has excellent mechanical strength, as well as good thermal shock stability.
